CTET Exam Online Registration

Registration of the CTET by aspirants is done by visiting the official website of CTET.

Please note that a candidate cannot submit application twice. That is an aspirant can submit only once his or her application.

While submitting application, please keep ready the scanned image (JPG/ JPEG) of your photograph and signature.

Eligibility

Candidates applying for CTET Exam must fulfill the eligibilities for Paper 1 (Class 1-5) & Paper 2 (Class 6-8).

Class 1-5 Teachers’ Eligibility

50% marks in Graduation + B.Ed

50% marks in Senior Secondary + 2 Year Diploma in Elementary Education (passed or appearing) OR

45% marks in Senior Secondary + 2 Year Diploma in Elementary Education (passed or appearing) in accordance with NCTE (Recognition Norms and Procedure), Regulations, 2002. OR

50% marks in Senior Secondary + 4 Year B.El.Ed (passed or appearing) OR

50% marks in Senior Secondary + 2 Year Diploma in Education (Special Education) OR

Class 6-8 Teachers’ Eligibility

Graduation + 2-Year Diploma in Elementary Education OR

CTET Exam consists of Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs). There will be no negative marking.

It consists two Papers : Paper 1 (for Class 1-5 teachers) and Paper 2 (for Class 6-8 teachers)

There are 4 modes or say Stream through which NIOS takes students.

Students can only opt one mode/ stream.

Admission Process

Students according to their need can choose anyone stream.

Stream 1

It is open to all students who wish to take up their studies in Class 10 and Class 12.

Eligibility conditions applicable to the students.

Through out the year, admission takes place.

How to take admission in NIOS?

There are four methods.

  1. Direct online admission
  2. Visit NIOS AI (Study Centre)/Facilitation Centre and take help from the Centre.
  3. Visit NIOS Regional Centre take help take help from the Centre.
  4. Common Services Centres of the Govt. of India for Online registration

Can I take direct admission in Class 10 from NIOS?

Sure.

  • Student must have passed Class 8 and attained 14 years.
  • A self certificate stating that “I have studied and able to pursue the secondary course”.

Can I take direct admission in Class 12 from NIOS?

The student must have passed Class 10. Then only he or she is eligible. And the minimum age is 15 years.

Admission is valid for how many years?

Once a student is registered, it is valid for 5 years.

What is the fee for admission?

When NIOS exams are held?

Basically NIOS conduct two type of exams for students.

  • Public Examinations
  • On Demand Examinations

Public Examinations

It is conducted twice in a year in the months of April-May and October-Novemeber

The public exam is being taken by fresh and unsuccessful learners of previous exams.

On Demand Examinations

Registered students of NIOS both Secondary and Senior Secondary can take up the On Demand Exam subject to availability of the seats in the Examination Centre. It is upto ones wish and preparation.

It is conducted at NIOS Gautam Budh Nagar (Uttar Pradesh), Regional Centres, 44 Kendriya Vidyalayas across the country.

What is the eligibility for CTET Exam?

Ans: Here is eligibility criteria for both Class 1-5 Primary Teacher and Class 6-8 Elementary Teacher.

Class 1-5 Primary Teacher

Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 2- year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known) OR

Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 45% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 2- year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known), in accordance with the NCTE (Recognition Norms and Procedure), Regulations, 2002. OR

Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 4- year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed). OR

Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 2- year Diploma in Education (Special Education)*. OR

Graduation and passed or appearing in final year of two year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known).

Class 6-8 Elementary Teacher

Graduation and passed or appearing in final year of 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known). OR

Graduation with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in 1-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed). OR

Graduation with at least 45% marks and passed or appearing in 1-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed), in accordance with the NCTE (Recognition Norms and Procedure) Regulations issued from time to time in this regard. OR

Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 4- year Bachelor in Elementary Education (B.El.Ed). OR

Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 4- year B.A/B.Sc.Ed or B.A.Ed/B.Sc.Ed. OR

Graduation with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in 1-year B.Ed. (Special Education)*.

Relaxation

  • Relaxation up to 5% in the qualifying marks in the minimum Educational Qualification for eligibility shall be allowed to the candidates belonging to reserved categories, such as SC/ST/OBC/Differently abled.

Suppose I qualify CTET, am I eligible for getting the Job?

Ans: Qualifying CTET would not confer a right on any person for Recruitment/Employment as it is only one of the eligibility criteria for appointment.

If I qualify CTET, will CTET unit or CBSE provide me a Job?

Ans: No. It is hereby important to note that CBSE/ CTET unit doesn’t have any jurisdiction providing job / employment.

Number of attempts, can I apply for CTET Exam.

Ans: At present, there is no limit with number of attempts for the CTET Exam.

What is the validity period of CTET certificate?

Ans: According to NCTE Guidelines, the validity period is 7 years.

I have passed CTET Exam, can I sit again for the exam?

Ans: Yes. There is no restriction.

Amount has been debited from my account. Yet confirmation page not generated.

Ans: Candidate has to again pay the fee either through online mode or challans so as to get her/his confirmation page. The failed transaction amount will be refunded within 10-15 working days to the concerned bank account.
It happens due to congestion on Server, sometimes online transactions are failed, resulting amount is deducted from the candidate’s account but not credited in Board’s account.

Confirmation Page shows that the application form plus the fee has been received online to the Board. And the candidate will get the Admit Card.

I made a mistake with names/ address/ category/ change city. What should I do now?

Ans: You can do online correction. Please refer : Information Bulletin. No change will be accepted through
offline mode i.e. through fax/application or by email etc.

Is Rechecking/Re-evaluation of the OMR Answer sheet allowed?

Ans: No request for re-checking, re-assessment, re-evaluation or scrutiny of OMR Answer Sheets is entertained. Even correspondence is not entertained.
